Desicon Engineering Limited CEO and managing director Akanimo Udofia graduated from the University of Uyo with a BSc in business administration. Early in his career, he served as a senior business manager for the security and safety systems provider Vision 2000 Limited. Akanimo Udofia subsequently spent several years with the oil and gas industry contractor Stolt-Bouygues Offshore as a consortium partner responsible for arranging contracts for oil and gas services in Nigeria. During his tenure with Stolt-Bouygues, he built a project portfolio worth more than $900 million.
Since assuming leadership of Desicon Engineering 20 years ago, Akanimo Udofia has focused on managing sustainable business growth of the enterprise by cultivating new and existing opportunities to perform services for energy industry clients operating in Nigeria. He has developed beneficial partnerships with oil corporations from around the world that have allowed Desicon to complete work on over $10 billion worth of engineering, procurement, and construction projects in the past 10 years. Also in charge of implementing organizational policies, Mr. Udofia ensures that all personnel adhere to ethical standards while effectively carrying out operations.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Akanimo Udofia enjoys a variety of water sports, ranging from swimming to jet skiing. He also contributes funding for philanthropic initiatives that deliver health care and clean water to disadvantaged communities in Nigeria. As a donor to the London Eastside Young Leaders’ Academy, he supports enrichment programs for young boys from Africa and the Caribbean living in London, England.
